Bridge The Gap Allotment
Improving the mental health of children, parents and teachers in Derby City and beyond. Forming a connection with Bridge the Gap early, allows us to provide support in a more reactive way, as we have already begun forming a positive relationship.

Project Overview
We’re thrilled to announce that we are now the proud owners of a plot at Wilmorton Community Gardens.
The journey ahead involves a bit of elbow grease as we work to clear our new plot. Your financial input is invaluable! This urgency is because, on top of all this, we’re in the process of having a bespoke outdoor building crafted for Bridge the Gap kindly donated by Roundpeg Outdoor Buildings right on this site. 🥳
This new space will serve as a hub for one-on-one sessions and small group activities with children, all within the refreshing outdoor environment. But that’s not all – attached to the indoor section, a pergola will extend, creating a cosy seating area. Imagine using this in the summer for delightful outdoor sessions with children and parents.
The anticipation for this project is contagious, and we can’t wait to bring you along on this exciting journey! We all can’t wait to see what new opportunities we can bring to children needing support, or wanting to learn about we and emotions proactively 👍🏼🌈💚👏🏼
Hll-being
We will spend the funding on tools and equipment to set up and maintain the space. These will also be used within the sessions with parents and children. We will need some seating so we can take a breather from all the hard work, and provide a space to reflect, and check in with our children and parents. We also have the opportunity to upgrade our donated building and fit it with solar panels, something we are really excited about. And finally we want to create a sensory garden within the allotment to provide our children with a safe space to be themselves.

Derian House Childrens Hospice
We provide respite and end-of-life care to more than 400 babies, children and young people across the North West. The care we provide is free for families, but services cost £6 million to run every year. Our help extends right across the family to brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents.

Sydenham Garden
Sydenham Garden provides therapeutic gardening and and arts and crafts groups for people with mental health difficulties and dementia - in the beautiful setting of a nature reserve and community food growing site. It is a source of peace and joy, a real sanctuary when people are going through tough times.

Hounds for Heros
We’re a small passionate team dedicated to supporting those who have served or are serving our country, who have become disabled through injury or illness. Our experienced trainers, volunteers, and staff work together to provide life-changing assistance dogs that offer not only physical support but emotional strength and independence.
