Project Overview

Overview provided by crowdfunder.co.uk

Circus Starr is a unique UK charity that removes the barriers many families face when accessing the arts. While traditional theatre experiences can be overwhelming, inaccessible or simply unaffordable, Circus Starr creates performances where accessibility is built into every show. From adjusted lighting and sound levels to sensory packs and a welcoming, judgement-free environment, every child has the opportunity to enjoy the magic of the circus.

This September, Circus Starr will tour 23 towns across the UK, providing inclusive performances for families who may otherwise never have the opportunity to experience live entertainment together.

The MAB Foundation's grant will help fund essential production equipment, costumes and stage props, ensuring the performances remain engaging, safe and fully accessible for every audience member.

Through its Donated Ticket Scheme, Circus Starr works with hospices, schools, community groups and charities to provide free tickets to disabled and disadvantaged children, ensuring that cost is never a barrier. Since the charity was established, more than one million children have experienced the excitement and wonder of a Circus Starr performance.

We're proud to support Circus Starr in creating unforgettable memories and ensuring that every child, regardless of their circumstances or additional needs, has the chance to experience the joy, confidence and sense of belonging that live performance can bring.
