Boxing for Better
Boxing For Better have been working to secure the funding to transform a disused premises in Leigh into a fully inclusive trauma informed boxing hub. This is a space where young people, adults, families and people on crisis can find purpose, build a community and be seen.
Project Overview
Boxing For Better has been running a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for the equipment needed to establish a brand new boxing facility in Leigh. This facility will support some of the borough's most hard-to-reach groups through boxing and mentoring. A key component of this project is the development of a flexible-use classroom that will enable us to facilitate workshops and alternative education programs.
In this space, we will work with adults who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET), young people disengaged from education, adults aiming to reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease, adults on probation, and our men's mental health group. It will be a space where learning, connection, and conversation can thrive.
To create this classroom, we need tables and chairs, whiteboards, ICT equipment, projectors, and more. Any contribution you choose to make will go directly toward this part of the program.
