Creatovators is a Social Enterprise with a passionate belief that people on the autistic spectrum have a lot to offer. By providing help and support to them, their families, professionals, companies and organisations, we are seeing significant success stories as a result of our service-user-led, "can do" approach.

Project Overview

Overview provided by crowdfunder.co.uk

We established our projects and activities in response to a lack of resources in the local area for families with children on the autistic spectrum or those who have recently been referred for a diagnosis. We aim to provide a safe and accepting environment for these families to play. We started with a monthly playscheme in Bearsden and have since opened two additional monthly playschemes in other locations. Many of our families express that they have "nowhere else to go."

Our Aims

- To create a safe and accepting environment for individuals to play and engage socially.
- To offer support to families and caregivers.
- To collaborate with other agencies and professionals involved in our autistic community.
- To provide volunteering opportunities for individuals on the autistic spectrum, as well as for those who may feel socially isolated.
- To share best practices with other organisations.

Why Are We Crowdfunding?

We are a very small social enterprise organisation that relies on financial support from grants, donations, and income generated from delivering small training sessions. We have strong ties to the community and need financial assistance to implement supportive programs for autistic young people. The funds raised will help finance a 10-week video program for autistic young people called "Voices of Autism." Working on this video project will help develop social and communication skills, as well as aid in creative development. We will be teaching new skills by having experienced professionals instruct on video and audio recording techniques. By the end of the 10 weeks, we will not only have enhanced the skills and abilities of the group but will also have created a new 10-15 minute video to add to our existing "Voices" series, which serves as an educational resource for autistic individuals.

R!SE Up

RISE with’ is our community led scheme, which harnesses the support of local organisations to provide life-changing experiences for young people. Coaching provides the foundation of our work, but we want to go further, raising aspirations for our young people. We believe the way to do this is by exposing them to new experiences, which have the potential to be life changing. Whether it’s drumming, boxing, parkour or cooking, these opportunities give young people access to new possibilities, life skills and passions.

The Brick

At The Brick, we run a Food Community at St George’s Church on Water Street, Wigan - a place where people can access affordable, nutritious food with choice, dignity and respect.
